Almond and Cashew Muesli


There was a time when there as no muesli available in India.. for that matter we never heard of anything called muesli..So my cousin sent us some goodies from USA, the bag contained a huge box of this thing called Muesli.. all very skeptical, opened the box grabbed a handful and started munching on it.. holy cow! crunchy, slightly sweet, loads of nuts.. amazing taste! That became a staple breakfast..

Lately have been hearing about usage artificial sweeteners, imitation fruits.. has got me thinking about making the muesli at home.. so here is my version of muesli.

3 cups of rolled oats

1 1/2 cups of kelloggs barn flakes

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1/8 cup almond chopped

1/8 cup cashew nuts

pinch of salt

PH oven to 180 degrees.

First combine the rolled oats,barn flakes, salt,almonds,cashews and combine well. New combine the oil and honey and pour into the dry ingredients and mix well .line a baking sheet and spread the oat mixture evenly without any lumps..

Bake in the pre heated oven for about 30 minutes. Cool and store in a air tight container

Serve with cold milk, dried berries/raisins.
